PROVISION OF NEW FIBRE OPTIC LINK TO TELECOMMUNICATION TOWERS FOR
MOBILE AND RURAL BROADBAND SERVICES (CLAWBACK 2017, 2018, 2019) CLUSTER 5

This project involves the installation of fiber optic cables spanning approximately 16 kilometers between Kampung Pueh and Kampung Serabang. The client for this initiative is Sacofa, a leading telecommunications infrastructure provider. The project commenced in 2022, with a completion period of 70 days.

The scope of the project includes a comprehensive approach starting from meticulous planning and obtaining necessary permits to the actual installation and final handover. Initially, a site survey will be conducted to assess the route and identify potential challenges, followed by securing right-of-way agreements and regulatory approvals. The design phase will finalize the route and technical specifications, aligning with Sacofa’s standards. Preparation will involve procuring materials, preparing installation sites, and mobilizing teams.

During the installation phase, the team will either lay the fiber optic cables aerially or underground, depending on the terrain and existing infrastructure. This will be followed by connecting and splicing at the designated towers in Kampung Pueh and Kampung Serabang. The installation process will be closely monitored with regular progress reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Once installation is complete, extensive testing will be performed to validate the fiber link’s performance, followed by commissioning and activation. The final phase involves documenting the entire project, updating network maps, and officially handing over the project to Sacofa. Throughout the project, there will be a focus on communication with Sacofa to address any concerns promptly and ensure high standards of quality and performance are maintained.
